The journey to The Nest is all paved roads until you turn on the gravel access road leading back 1.2 miles to the cabin. It will have various inclines, common mountain road bumps and turns to reach the top of the mountain. The road is wider than most entrance roads and provides several pull off areas for other vehicles. For inexperienced mountain drivers, AWD or 4WD is recommended.
It is located in a mountain neighborhood with most of the cabins being occupied year round. It is a very private location with no one behind you but it does have a cabin across the entrance road and to your left.

Trash pickup service is on Wednesday. If the trash cans are full upon arrival, please contact the property management office. All trash must be bagged and placed into the trash cans provided and lids securely attached. Our nature friends love to make a mess when this is not done and the trash companies will not pick up loose trash. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend this cabin. It was beautiful, the mountain views were gorgeous, and we ended up spending about half of our vacation just relaxing at the cabin because we enjoyed it so much. It was clean, comfortable, and a great value for the price. Also appreciated that it is dog friendly!! One thing future guests should know is that this is managed by a property management company rather than an individual host, so there are a few extra forms and pieces of information you’ll need to complete before your stay. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it’s something to be aware of. Communication was excellent. The host was incredibly responsive, kind, and helpful whenever we had questions. The only other tip I’d give is that an AWD or 4WD vehicle is needed. The second half of the drive up the mountain gets steep and rough, and we were very glad to have the right vehicle. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return! It was a dream stay.

The home is exceptionally clean, beautifully maintained, and it’s clear that every detail has been thoughtfully considered. One of the things I was most excited about was having a beautiful mountain view, and it exceeded all of my expectations. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and made our stay even more special. We also truly appreciated how well-stocked the home is with everything guests might need—from coffee pods and sugar to a first aid kit and other thoughtful essentials. It’s obvious that you genuinely care about providing a comfortable and welcoming experience. The mountain house exceeded our expectations! It was super clean and private, and we felt right at home. It was the perfect long weekend getaway. We would love to come back in the fall.
